HAL JORDAN AND THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS #32

The Justice Leagueis down to their last man standing in HAL JORDAN AND THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS #32 from DC Comics.  Robert Venditti continues the Bats of out Hell story line in which the Dark Knights Batmen have taken on the League members one on one in hellish Batcaves of their own creation.  Flash, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman have all been dispatched with only Hal Jordan standing in the way.  If there ever was a match up that could go either way it is Green Lantern vs. The Dawnbreaker.  The fight in this comic is epic!  Hal Jordan is no normal Green Lantern and The Dawnbreaker’s over confidence could lead to his downfall.  I don’t want to say too much because if there ever was a fight that could go either way it was this one and it had me on the edge of my seat all the way to the conclusion.

When first looking at Bats out of Hell I wondered why only Hal Jordan got his own separate issue for a prolonged encounter with his own evil Bruce Wayne counterpart… now I know why.  Venditti allows Hal to shine bright in all his glory as one of the most powerful characters in the DC Universe, especially after having crafted his own ring of power from pure will as well as coming back from the dead.  This combined with his lack of fear mean that he has the greatest chance of defeating one of the Dark Knights and turning the tables for the Justice League.  A great face off with be the same without great art and Liam Sharp delivers in spades.  A fight taking place in the absence of light sounds like a tricky undertaking but Sharp pulls it off perfectly.  The strobe effect of action intermixed with black panels of just dialogue really sell the idea that The Dawnbreaker is the master of darkness while Hal Jordan’s willpower continues to shine brightly.  Script and pencils come together to deliver what is the best issue from Bats out of Hell so far.  Metal as a whole continues to dominate the sales charts and exceed fan expectations.  If you missed out on this issue second printings are already available so just let us know and we can order one for you.
